The Goodness of Golden Milk
You may have heard a lot of buzz lately over the power of spices in our diet. And it’s true! Many spices contain potent anti-inflammatory properties, can aid in digestion, help balance blood sugar, and even act as nature’s antibiotics. Additionally, many of them are bright in color which is a dead give away for a strong antioxidant content. Some of my favorites are turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger. Full of bold and warm flavor these can be incorporated into home cooking, added to smoothies and soups, or even foods like fruit or oatmeal.
One idea you may not have heard of is Golden Milk. This is milk (or non-dairy substitute) infused with turmeric and other spices. This gives it a beautiful golden color and a rich, spicy flavor. The ritual of making and enjoying it can be a great for a healthy indulgence (enjoy with a small dollop of coconut whipped cream) or as a substitute for coffee or that evening glass of wine. Play with this recipe and make it your own!

Honey or maple syrup to taste (around 1 tsp)
